form.Z 6.1 Released
AutoDesSys is pleased to announce the release of form·Z 6.1 (more about this below) following a couple of months of public beta testing and a very busy fall season.

Keynote address at eCAADe
The season opened in September,in Volos, Greece, at the eCAADe conference (Education and Research in Computer Aided Architectural Design in Europe), http://www.arch.uth.gr/ecaade06/ where, Chris Yessios, president of AutoDesSys, gave the keynote address. He spoke aboutThe Singularity of Design Creativity. He defined singularity as "the moment when an arithmetic progression converts into a geometric one and acceleration takes off", and related it to the current state of 3D. "Artificially creative design, as is manifested through the use of contemporary digital tools, is at such a moment in time and its impact on our cultural evolution is undeniable. A few decades ago, in the earlier days of computer aided design, we were asking whether CAD really had any effect on the quality of design and on our physical environment..." Joint Study Awards
October took AutoDesSys to Louisville, Kentucky where the Association of Computer Aided Design In Architecture(ACADIA) http://www.acadia.org held its annual conference. Chris Yessios, presented the form·ZJoint Study Awards to deserving students. The form·Z Joint Study Program facilitates schools to teach students three dimensional design using form·Z. It is a widely used program to educate future designers in close to three hundred universities worldwide. The awards are presented in several categories after juried selections by academicians and professionals in the related fields. form·Z 6.1 In A Nutshell!
While version 6.1 may look a lot like form·Z 6.0, the changes have occurred behind the scenes. - The Macintosh version is universal binary and runs natively on both the new Intel based Macintosh computers and the PowerPC machines. It supports OS X 10.4 or later.

Version 6.1 is available on DVD. Users who subscribe to the form.Z Family Plan automatically receive their update in the mail. The call for submissions for the calendar gave the selection committee a difficult task in choosing the images for the 2007 form.Z calendar to represent all the industries that use form.Z. The 2007 form.Z calendar has been produced and you should be getting one in the next couple of weeks. If you do not receive it and whish to obtain one, please let our sales team know.
