Todd Slaughter uses form•Z to construct Walden Woods October 23, 2012
AutoDesSys | News
Todd Slaughter is an internationally known sculptor and Professor of Art at the Ohio State University. He used form•Z to construct Walden Woods, a sculpture currently part of his “American Primitives” exhibition at the Canzani Center in Columbus Ohio that runs through November 8, 2012, a gallery at the Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD) where Todd began teaching sculpture in 1968.
Walden Woods is composed of four inter-connected cartoon-like trees of bright, striped fabric. The 9-foot-high artwork—its frame consisting of a plastic used to make bowling balls and baking trays—hangs above the floor. Gallery visitors can marvel at the work from outside, or they can enter the “grove” and experience its underlying structure from within. Spotlights emphasize the colorful and ephemeral nature of the sculpture.1
The underlying lattice structure was created by sectioning the original 3D computer model in form•Z. The lattice is made up of over a thousand notched and labeled separate parts that were laid out on twenty-seven four foot by eight foot phenolic sheets. These shapes were cut out on a Shopbot, and then assembled by hand. form•Z was used to determine the final weight of the structure prior to construction, and to design and construct an “assembly tree”, an intermediate structure that kept the parts in place while they were glued.
Todd had been through several previous attempts to create Walden Woods, but its inherent complexity stood in the way of its construction. Eventually, he talked about his concerns with John Alexander, of AutoDesSys. After these initial discussions, they determined the best way to move forward was to use form•Z to make the cut files from the initial model by thickening it, then determining lines of intersection with arbitrarily placed planes. There were thirty-five horizontal planes, and seventy or so radial planes, causing the lattice to converge at the top. Striped fabric was then added to create the outer surface of the sculpture.
Todd explains the intention behind the work in the exhibition catalog: “Walden Woods points to a romantic perception of nature and the the misuse of Emerson and Thoreau’s ideas of identity as an endorsment of radical, self-centered worldviews. The artwork is intended as the touchstone of this exhibition, pointing up the parallels between American individualism and isolationism. An often-applauded aspect of the American character has been the perceived righteousness of the self-reliant individual roughing it, toughing it, and lone-ing it.”
Todd Slaughter’s other notable artworks include a transparent Fiberglas reproduction of Lake Michigan, hanging inside Chicago’s Midway Airport; and La Mano y La Bola, featuring a huge aluminum hand reaching toward a slowly rotating ball on a hill in Spain overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar.1

formZ 7 an integral part of a New York City success story October 15, 2012
formZ 7 was an important part of getting the condo building at 688 Broadway approved by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission. Rick Bernstein of Three Dimensional Technology is a long time formZ user and describes his role in the project:
I don't know how to describe the role that formZ plays in my process anymore, but now that I often get a Revit model from the architect I find formZ more crucial than ever. I get to leverage formZ's unparalleled handling of imported data to easily fix problems in the model with formZ 7's vastly impoved toolset (especially the "how did I live without this before" Reshape tool), and then improve the model with clean booleans when I need them, easy rounding and texture mapping. I usually rebuild crucial geometry to make sure the image renders correctly. The process is much better all around be
cause (a) the architect can use their software to understand the 3d relationships in the building and (b) because I get a much more developed idea then I did when I brought in 2d data from them, I have more time for developing textures and lighting then I did previously. I think it's a great workflow for all involved. Putting Maxwell in the mix as the renderer makes the building totally believable in the site. For my money and my workflow the combo of Revit, formZ and Maxwell is the best way to understand and present a building design.
form•Z 7 used to design and manufacture lilitab for iPad October 4, 2012
AutoDesSys | News
form•Z 7 was used to design and manufacture the lilitab, an Apple approved iPad kiosk. Adam Aronson, a long time AutoDesSys customer, was using form•Z 6 to design the lilitab for iPad when he ran into trouble getting the concave curved corners inside the lilitab just as he was envisioning them. He approached Technical Support for help and was advised to use form•Z 7 beta (at the time). The rest is history! He was able to quickly conquer his shortfall and supply the 3D files needed for manufacturing the device.
The lilitab was used and tied in with NBC's show, Fashion Star. The reality show pitted various up-and-coming designers against each other, and the winning designs from each episode were made available in Macy's, H&R, and Saks. The lilitabs were added to elaborate in-store displays that allow customers to order the apparel while visiting the display. You can find out more about form•Z HERE.
lilitab has also been used by Ford, Kogeto, and The Museum of Making Music. You can find out more about lilitab at www.liltab.com.

Wandering in the Garden of Technology and Passion, a book about Architect John Marx and his use of form•Z. February 14, 2012
Wandering the Garden of Technology and Passion, a book written by Pierluigi Serraino about Architect John Marx, a long time user of form•Z and innovator of digital tools, and the impressive projects of his firm, form4. A vivid demonstration of how a small architectural practice can compete internationally with much larger firms, thanks to their grasp of digital tools.
"Five chapters divide the work of John Marx that outline the wide-ranging and and biographical conditions of being an architect today. These episodes are structured around themes that cross-section his output, highlighting issues of general interest and avoiding the classic chronological trope so ubiquitous in tales of and architect's accomplishments. Marx's design impulse is the undercurrent throughout these sections. It is through design that architects have the greatest chance to bring relevance to their work and affect people's lives in significantly positive ways."
This book is available at Amazon.com, you can find it there by clicking HERE.
Book Description
Publication Date: January 18, 2012
John Marx is of the generation of design architects who witnessedtheir pencils morph into mouses and their drafting tables into computer desktops. Throughout this transition, he has maintained a remarkable aesthetic consistency in his architectural projects. Wandering the Garden of Technology and Passion is a study of digital design through Marx's work. This beautifully illustrated book traces the professional path of an architect whose mastery of digital tools transformed his practice into a global player, but who still manages to hold on to the intimate qualities of a boutique practice.

Alternative Present or Possible Future May 19, 2011
Craig Williams is an accomplished architect and an avid form•Z user
who contributes regularly at the form•Z forum. He recently
submitted some images that did not go unnoticed, and for good
reason.
As part of the American Society for Architectural Illustrators' AIP26
competition, this rendering received the Koichi Yasuda Juror Award,
one of the top six awards given from a field of over four hundred
entries from thirteen countries. This year's show is scheduled to open
at Pola Museum Ginza, Tokyo Japan from September 10 to October 2 and
will be held in parallel with UIA 2011 Tokyo, as its associated event
called "Visualizing Architectural Design Exhibition". It
will be co-organized by various participating associations and
corporations from eight different countries around the world.
Entitled "RED", the rendering suggests either an alternative
present or a possible future. Although the timeline is ambiguous, the
image tells several parts of a story: gasoline is a thing of the past,
Hydrogen is the current fuel source, science is somehow more advanced
and unfamiliar to our own, but even this fueling station with all of
its advanced technology is showing its age. The landscape is arid,
desolate, yet the redhead in the billboard continues to gaze down the
highway, luring weary travelers with her hollow promise of luxury and
abundance.
Part 3 of the self paced tutorials for bonzai3d has been released to help you master techniques for materials, lights, and displays at your pace. CLICK HERE to visit the page where you will find out more about these and other tutorials and get access to downloading them.
The “hands-on” self-paced tutorials are organized to help b3d users to easily learn the
techniques that will yield results quickly and efficiently. They are organized in sequential categories that walk you from essential interface navigation to mastering more advanced techniques, as you choose your level of expertise and needs accordingly. PART 1 QuickStart starts from the beginning and briefly introduces you to the interface. It then walks you through basic drawingtips to get you modeling quickly. You’ll learn how to add or subtractvolume to an object using the drawing tools. The tutorial concludes with moving, copying, and basic navigation.
PART 2 Sculpting continues from Part 1 and let’s you use the “sculpting” tools such as Reshaping, Insert Outlines, Insert Segments, and Imprinting. Learn how to move parts of objects. See how to draw on an object with or without inserting. You’ll also learn how to use the Roof tool, Primitives, Booleans, Sweeping, and Deformations. PART 3 Materials, Lights, and Displays utilizes the Edit Texture tool, Map Texture tool, predefined materials, and a variety of different displaytypes.
Learn how to create and move lights in your scene and how to position
the sun light based on actual location and time. You will also learn how
to use Global Illumination to enhance your final result.

Maxwell Render Plugin For Bonzai3d Released April 5, 2011
Next Limit Technologies, creators of Maxwell Render and AutoDesSys, developer of bonzai3D, are very happy to announce a new plugin for bonzai3d users. The new plugin will now allow bonzai3d users to render with Maxwell Render directly inside their platform. With this plugin, users can convert materials between the two programs as well as view Maxwell materials directly inside bonzai3d.
¨We are excited to see this new connection between Maxwell Render and bonzai3d,¨ says Juan Cañada, Lead Developer of Maxwell Render, at Next Limit Technologies. ¨The integration is exceptional and it will offer bonzai3d users an opportunity to produce the best quality images using Maxwell Render¨.
B3d is a relatively new comer in the 3D industry. It is quick, easy to use but quite powerful and very robust. Designers can use b3d in the conceptual and sketching stages of their projects workflow. The CAD accurate models can then be used further down in the pipeline for final renders, construction design, fabrication and animation. Embedded tutorials make it easy to use while its robust geometry standards make it a choice for professionals.
¨We are very pleased with the release of the Maxwell Render plugin for b3d, as it will add some great advanced rendering capabilities to the refreshingly easy to use modeling flow of the program¨ says Alexandra Yessios, VP of Sales & Marketing at AutoDesSys Inc. ¨You can create imaginative forms smoothly and effortlessly and then render them with all the global illumination effects that so successfully compete with reality.¨
"We kept bonzai3d's motto--- 'small but powerful'--- in mind when developing the plugin for Maxwell Render¨, says Ben Dean, plugin developer. ¨ You'll get photorealistic renderings from your existing Bonzai projects in no time with the materials auto-translate feature, which uses verbal material hints, like 'glass' and 'aluminum,' to guide the translation. Of course, you can use MXM materials for even greater accuracy. The plugin adds five new light types for illuminating your scenes, including Maxwell's Physical Sky, IES for manufacturer-accurate lighting, and a parametric 'soft box' which works just like its photographic counterpart. These light types help you leverage Maxwell Render´s legendary Multilight feature. You can promote your designs with stunning, physically accurate images ¨
Maxwell Render is a next generation rendering technology based upon the physical equations governing light transport. It enables users to digitally create highly accurate and believable imagery of the real world. Maxwell Render produces incredibly realistic illumination without resorting to the tricks/approximations used by many current industry standard renderers. Moreover, it supersedes existing renderers through its incredible ease-of-use, enabling professionals in a very broad range of disciplines to quickly learn and exploit its capabilities. Maxwell Render is now used as the render software of choice for companies in many industries including Architecture, Automotive, Product/Industrial Design and Media & Entertainment.
Bonzai3d offers a fresh take on 3D modeling. Prior to b3d, 3D modelers tended to be easy-to-use, or accurate and powerful, but rarely both. Bonzai's fluid, contemporary interface is backed up by robust geometry based on AutoDesSys' proprietary modeling algorithms coupled with other solid modeling kernels, so you can go from 3D sketch to production in record time, with solids, NURBS or both.

Here are a few highlights: • International keyboard input methods are now properly supported on OS X (French Numerical for example) • The Mirror tool now shades objects properly. • Replacing mirrored components tool no longer leaves them inside out. • Reshaping objects with UV or UV Coordinate texture maps no longer crashes (models imported from SketchUp often have UV texture Coordinates). • Shift click on Menu Items now brings up the Manual properly. • In metric units, a capital M is now accepted for meters. • A variety of memory related issues have been resolved.
One month ago we reported on Mark Donohue's design of the aTrackt! using bonzai3d, his device to securely position the Apple Magic Trackpad alongside Apple's matching Aluminum Wireless Keyboard. AutoDesSys is happy to let you know that Mark achieved his goal for funding the device which is now on its way to production. Congratulations and kudos to Mark Donohue from all of us here at AutoDesSys.
Mark Donohoe is pretty good at conceiving new projects and ideas. He relies on bonzai3D because he finds the application “pretty damn great at getting them from your head to the screen”. He says: “the speed and ease-of-use of bonzai3D's impressive interface let me focus on the design of the product rather than the software I was using”; and he also adds that “the 'Scenes' feature of bonzai3D was great for letting me try out different scenarios and configurations of the project and compare them with a single click”. Mark not only designed the aTrackt! using b3d, but also made a prototype of his product “in record time” by exporting the bonzai3d files to a CNC machine.
The aTrackt! is a surprisingly simple and elegant device used to securely position the Apple Magic Trackpad alongside Apple's matching Aluminum Wireless Keyboard. Unlike competing products, the devices remain on the desk as if the aTrackt! wasn't there. But it is there and it keeps both devices locked together side-by-side in a most unobtrusive way. The aTrackt! can be used in a left- or right-handed configuration simply by flipping it around. You can find more information about the aTrackt! HERE.
form•Z User Wins Lightworks Image Competition February 8, 2011
Lightworks, a supplier of rendering solutions for developers of 3D graphics software, has announced that Andrew Parks is the winner of the latestLightworks Image Competition. Parks used form•Z RenderZone Plus software to create his winning image of a house in rural Arkansas. The house utilized careful siting as well as weathered materials in order to blend into the surroundings.
The house is designed along circulation datum with living/sleeping
spaces plugged in to it. Each space is separated by a courtyard filled
with natural grasses and wildflowers. The courtyards aren’t meant to be
occupied, but act as a natural breath between the different programmatic
elements of the house. The materials and forms are very simple and raw,
but rich in character, paying homage to the site as well as the owner.
The low maintenance corten wraps the whole house, like a tube, unifying
the detached programmatic zones of the house. Where courtyards slice the
form of the tube, simple fiber cement panels act as infill. The form of
the house hovers over the landscape, not only to emphasize the sense of
a continuous wrapper, but also to let the landscape be as untouched as
possible.
An interview about bonzai3d on Sketchucation December 15, 2010
Q: We can’t possibly cover each and every tool in bonzai3d for this interview. In doing this interview, I wanted to cover the most important features that are available both in Google SketchUp and and bonzai3d. Then going a bit further into the bonzai3d application and covering some of its tools which are not part of Google SketchUp, as an incentive to people to try out bonzai3d.
A: bonzai3d was conceived as a lighter version of form•Z. with a contemporary interface. It was conceived as an application that invites easy 3D modeling, initially at a conceptual/ sketching level, but also capable of producing robust detailed models that can be used for the production of accurate construction drawings, presentation renderings, and physical scale or full size models, using any of the available fabrication methods, without requiring any additional processing of the models. The latter are all virtues that form•Z already has and we had no problem borrowing some major parts of its modeling engine, especially some of its advanced operations that are easy to execute. The interface of bonzai3d was done from scratch.
AutoDesSys is proud to present the 17 edition of the Joint Study Journal. This is an annual periodical published to recap the year in 3D as taught and researched in schools around the world. It is the outcome of the Joint Study Program that was established in 1991 to incorporate 3D modeling in the design curriculum and teach digital design representations of projects in all fields engaged in the articulation of 3D forms and shapes.
The Journal includes the student awards, and a collection of articles contributed by academicians and students based on a topic of interest chosen by the guest editor. Guest Editor Kevin
Cespedes selected "The Fantastic and the Constructible" as the theme of
concentration for the contribution of articles. The collection is
intellectually stimulating, intriguing and points to the future of the
industry.
This year, the Joint Study Journal is dedicated to Bill Mitchell, a well known proponent of 3D, who passed away too soon, and is dearly missed by all whose lives were touched by his initiatives and clairvoyance in the field. Browse and read the Journal HERE>>

Things Just Became Easier! May 5, 2010 Evan Troxel
"It’s interesting
how my history with AutoDesSys comes full circle. After I spent a few years
away from form•Z, they released a new application for designers called bonzai3d.
I jumped at the opportunity to beta test the application and hopefully help
form it into a great app for architectural designers. After all of the years of
experience I’ve had with form•Z, both professionally and in teaching it, I knew
exactly where bonzai3d needed to go to become the go-to modeler that I and so
many others needed. What was so unexpected was that AutoDesSys had already
built the application that I had been needing for so many years.
...Over the last year, bonzai3d has changed the landscape of
conceptual design tools in my field of architectural design. I always welcome
another tool in my toolbox, but bonzai3d is my go-to tool for the majority of
my work. The tools it offers are so numerous and powerful that I hardly need to
go to another to get my job done. When I need to do that, I can because it
plays so well with the other tools that are out there." READ

2009 Student Awards Announced October 26, 2009
AutoDesSys held the 17th Annual Awards
Banquet of its Joint Study Program to reward student projects executed using
form•Z. The event took place in Chicago, during the ACADIA (Association of
Computer Aided Design in Architecture) conference which was held at SAIC
(School of Art Institute of Chicago). The school’s ballroom where it was held, is reminiscent of the old glory
of the city’s turn of the century elegance, while the 200+ audience that filled
it, represents the progression of the digital tools that serve the
architectural industry and community and have led design to studies and
executions unheard of even twenty years ago. form•Z has led this evolution
since the 1980s when it was conceived and introduced to the market to fulfill
the much needed digital three dimensional representation of design. To this day, it offers the most
complete set of tools for three dimensional design in a single software
package.
The awards this year are in five categories:
Architectural Design, Urban Design, Interior Design, Fabrication, and
Visualization. Students received
awards of distinction and honorable mentions. The schools with winning entries were: The College of
Architecture, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo; College of Architecture, Texas Tech
University; School of
Architecture, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque; Department of Architectural Studies, Cardiff School of Art and Design, University of Wales Institute, United Kingdom; Department of Art and Media, South Devon
College, Paignton, Devon, United Kingdom; Department of Architecture, Tamkang University, Tanshui,
Taiwan; BAA Illustration, Sheridan
College, Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
In his address to the audience present at the awards
ceremony, Chris Yessios, president of AutoDesSys, said: “We are happy to know
that the students we have been awarding all these year are very much part of
this younger generation of designers that are playing such a pivotal role in
the evolution of our contemporary architectural culture.” He went on to remark that “quite a few
of the papers presented in this conference have acknowledged, older generations
of designers are still uncomfortable with computers and they will always be.
However, they have learned and gained confidence that, no matter how daring
their initial sketches may be, some young architect who has been 'mousing'
around almost since he was in his/her crib, will be able to translate them into
something constructible.”
The journey has been full of accomplishment for form•Z
Joint Study award winners the past 17 years. This year’s conference organizer, Tristan d’Estrée Sterk, is
one of them, exactly 10 years ago. The journey for AutoDesSys has been equally fulfilling, gratifying, and
filled with its own sense of accomplishment, knowing that it is able to
contribute to the education of young designers all over the world making a
difference in their own way.

bonzai3d Update 1.2 Released September 22, 2009
AutoDesSys is pleased to announce that the bonzai3d version 1.2 update has been released.
bonzai3d
1.2 is primarily a maintenance update for the application . This includes
compatibility with OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Note that bonzai3d is not
yet a 64 bit application hence it does not yet take advantage of the
new 64 bit support in Snow Leopard. We plan to support this in the
future in form•Z, but Spatial (ACIS) and Lightworks still need to
deliver 64 bit versions of OS X before we can! Note that with
Snow Leopard compatibility, we re-gain 3D Warehouse support on OS X
that Google recently broke in OS X 10.5.
This version includes Japanese and Italian localizations.
There
are also a number of important bug corrections including the export of
images with shadows and sweeping along non planar wire paths.
If you have a registered copy of bonzai3d, you can update this by going to bonzai3d's Help Menu and selecting Check for Update.
If
you currently have an unexpired trial copy, you can return to the same
link from where you downloaded the trial version previously and
download an updated trial. (If you don't have this link, just fill out
the form on This Page and the link will be sent to you automatically.)

bonzai3d for VISIONSELL June 29, 2009
Two brand new products have teamed up to revolutionize the way people buy homes and real estate agents sell them. Transforming Architecture is launching a new concept, VISIONSELL, a product for architects that will facilitate real estate sales by helping buyers visualize how they can turn an "ugly duckling bargain" into their dream home with the help of bonzai3d. Bonzai3d is the software of choice for VISIONSELL to engage architects with homebuyers. Side by side, the architect can offer design solutions that prospective buyers can see immediately. These ideas may include an addition, floor plan alteration, or even raising the roof. The architect helps clients visualize the changes and obtain the necessary information to make an educated buying decision.
After evaluating several different software applications for the task, Karen Pitsley, AIA, President of Transforming Architecture, and the mastermind behind VISIONSELL, selected bonzai3d, even though she was still working with the beta version. "The potential was so obvious, it was an easy decision", said Pitsley. On one hand you have an easy to use, yet powerful and robust set of tools that can take you from a quick sketch, all the way to detailed representations, construction drawings, and 3D prints. On the other hand, you facilitate buyers and sellers, architects and real estate agents. A win-win situation for all involved. Learn more about how to use bonzai3d in this capacity on YouTube HERE>>

More bonzai3d Impressions May 18, 2009
As more 3d industry analysts and press publish their reports about AIA 2009, and their take on bonzai3d the more positive impressions surface about bonzai3d's tools, power, and capabilities. Two new reviews by Lachmi Khemlani of AECbytes and Anthony Fausto Robledo of Architosh, reflect the bright future ahead for this new application that left AIA attendees inspired and hopeful at the thought of having an entry level tool they can use as a stepping stone to the next level of their project, whatever it may be, instead of facing a dead end at the end of a day of modeling. Khemlani opens her section of the overview of the Conceptual Design secion of her AIA 2009 report by saying: "In the conceptual design space, while Google was there to demonstrate version 7 of SketchUp, it seemed to be over-shadowed by the new bonzai3d from AutoDesSys Inc." (To read the entire article at AECbytes click HERE)
Robledo sat down with Chris Yessios, president of AutoDesSys, and had a candid talk with him about bonzai3d. His wrap up of the conversation and the demo he saw at AIA was this: "With a combination of strengths ranging from robust modeling kernel
technologies to advantages in modeling creation and editing–to solid
strengths in learning the application–bonzai3d is clearly the
front-runner rival to Google’s popular SketchUp, and is well worth
reviewing for anyone interested in an easy-to-use but powerful modeling
application." (You can read the entire article HERE)
Ron Heikes made history by becoming the first user to buy bonzai3d. He bought the pre-release version that was offered at AIA 2009. He is pictured with Chris Yessios, President and co-founder of AutoDesSys.
AIA attendees were very impressed with bonzai3d. As time went by and word spread, more and more visitors came to see the latest offering by AutoDesSys. You could feel the excitement, not only from the visitors, but by the AutoDesSys team in San Francisco that was energized by the warm welcome and the appreciation for its power and the robustness the entry level modeler received. One attendee, Suad Mahmuljin, could not contain himself and promptly exclaimed: "this is like Sketcup on steroids"!!!!! Needless to say he also said that he will be buying it as soon as it is released.

With an academic program that involves Universities and some High Schools worldwide, AutoDesSys supports and subsidizes the “Joint Study Program” (JSP) to facilitate the teaching of design with digital tools - 3D in particular. Currently in its 17th year, the JSP offers the use of form•Z in academic departments that are interested in educating their students in the articulation of three dimensional forms. The goal of the JSP is twofold: It aims to promote education in 3D modeling and computer enhanced design, and to contribute to the evolution of computer driven design tools. At the end of each academic year, the faculty members in charge of administering the JSP are invited to submit a report with feedback and samples of student work that are compiled by AutoDesSys into the annual Joint Study Report, aptly named "Partnerships in Learning". In addition to this, each year, a guest editor invites colleagues from member schools to submit articles for the "Joint Study Journal", a collection of thematic and intellectually stimulating views that present new and challenging ideas in the fields of digital design. Edited and reviewed by prominent members of the global academic community, these articles cover various aspects of digital design and represent the work of faculty, students and researchers in the field. This is inspirational reading for anyone desiring to explore how advanced digital design is influencing the future of architecture as well as other industries engaged in three dimensional expressions. Both the JSP Report (on DVD) and the Journal (in print) are widely distributed in the academic community and form•Z users world wide as well as any others who may be interested in them. There is no doubt that the form•Z Joint Study Program is unique, contributes to academics in unparalleled ways, and remains a testament of AutoDesSys' passion for research, development, and its contribution to the advancement of the 3D industry.
One of the traditions of the JSP is the nomination of student projects for awards that are presented to a distinguished jury comprised of five individuals outside of AutoDesSys, both experts or theorists of computer aided design. They are charged with selecting the award winners in a setting that does not disclose names of the nominees or school affiliations. This year the jurors were:
Craig Beddow, Craig Beddow Design, Architect, Minneapolis, MN Beth Blostein, Associate Professor of Architecture, The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH Robert Brainard, IDSA, RBID, Industrial Designer, Danbury, CT Frank Elmer, FAIA, FAICP, Principal, Lincoln Street Studio, Columbus, OH Susan Melsop, Assistant Professor of Interior Design, The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH
Award recipients are selected based on the grading they receive from the jurors in the following categories listed along side the winners’ names. For a complete and detailed list of the projects with graphic illustrations VISIT>>
